Aloha Republican Ohana,

On July 27th, we witnessed the debates between President Donald J. Trump and Joe Biden. The contrast was stark. One candidate appeared dazed and confused, struggling to form coherent sentences, while the other stood tall, presenting a clean bill of health and confidence. We all know who is who in this scenario.

The Democrats are now discussing a potential alternative candidate to run for president. Many have asked how we can support someone who has been convicted of a felony. Well, It's important to consider the broader context of any crime, including issues of bias, fairness, and the appeals process. But above all, our support is based on policy, qualifications, and the ability to lead, both physically and mentally.

During Donald Trump's presidency, we experienced lower gas prices, lower interest rates, and a stronger country. As a veteran, I personally appreciated his acknowledgment of Veteran’s service across the nation. Our borders were becoming more secure, trade agreements were improving, and in 2019, the United States Space Force was established, thanks to President Trump. This marked the creation of the first new independent military service since the U.S. Air Force in 1947.

In contrast, Joe Biden has been talking about cutting social security for over 40 years. Under his administration, our borders are insecure, interest rates for home loans have increased, gas prices have surged, homelessness has risen, and drug overdoses have spiked due to increased drug trafficking across the borders. Additionally, we cannot ignore the shameful response to the Maui fires, where those affected received a mere $700 while billions were sent to Ukraine.

I want to extend my heartfelt mahalo to all the people, counties, Donald Trump groups, and members of the Hawaii Republican Party for your unwavering support of President Donald J. Trump. We need to make Hawaii and America great again. Our party is on a path of change, and we need fresh patriots from the grassroots to keep it going.

Join the party, support a Republican candidate, get involved with election integrity, or show up and wave a flag. It's time for the people of Hawaii and America to take a stand.

Mahalo and God bless,

Tamara McKay
State Chair, Hawaii Republican Party
