Dear John

Animal Aid is campaigning for a ban on the use of animals in warfare experiments. All animal experiments are cruel and unreliable, but warfare experiments are particularly troubling. Exposing animals to substances that are designed to maim and kill humans is totally unacceptable.

We have previously highlighted examples of the terrible distress and pain which animals suffer in warfare experiments. Most recently, we exposed how rats were shot in both eyes with pellets fired at almost 45 mph. At Dstl, Porton Down, from 2010 to 2019 inclusive, more than 52,000 animals were used in experiments, which usually ended in the animal’s death.

Next week, 20-26 April, is our Warfare Experiments Awareness Week. Please join our action and please write to your MP and ask them to sign EDM 291, which calls for a ban on all warfare experiments on animals.
