CELEBRATING MARYLAND COMMUNITIES
On Saturday, June 22, Gov. Hogan attended the Juneteenth Festival in Annapolis.


Gov. Hogan: “Thank you to all the volunteers and local vendors who came out to share the history and tradition of Juneteenth and make today so special–and thank you for the chance to say a few words to the crowd.”

On Monday, June 24, Gov. Hogan was joined by more than 500 members of Maryland’s Asian community in Montgomery County as part of his Asians for Hogan coalition.


Gov. Hogan: “This great community means so much to me and to our entire family, and we are so fortunate to have their support as we work to bring bipartisanship and common sense to Washington.


I want to especially thank my wife and my better half, Yumi—the chair of Asians for Hogan. I am so proud of her and all that she has accomplished on behalf of our state’s Asian community.”

That afternoon, he then met with members of the Greenbelt Volunteer Fire Department in Prince George’s County to discuss the impact severe staffing shortages are having on their department, which have placed both the first responders and the community at risk.


Gov. Hogan: “Our brave first responders put their lives on the line every day to keep us safe, and ensuring they have the resources they need is not just a priority—but a necessity. I have always been a proud supporter of our state’s first responders, and that’s exactly what I will continue to do in the Senate."

MAKING LIFE MORE AFFORDABLE

On Wednesday, June 26, Gov. Hogan held a press conference near the Bay Bridge–where he cut tolls for the first time in 50 years as governor–to announce his five-point plan to make life more affordable for Marylanders.


Gov. Hogan: “For eight years, I fought every single day to make life more affordable and delivered on that mission. We eliminated 350 fees, cut taxes by $4.7 billion, and cut tolls for the first time in 50 years—including right here at the Bay Bridge.


When we cut those tolls, many Maryland politicians scoffed. But I knew that for so many Marylanders who are struggling to get by, any relief can make all the difference in the world.


Today, the economic headwinds hard-working Marylanders face are even more challenging than a decade ago.


I am not going to ask or care what side of the aisle an idea came from. I am going to ask a simple question: will it deliver economic relief for hardworking Maryland families? We need strong, independent leadership to make life more affordable, and with this plan, that’s exactly what I’ll do.”

LAW ENFORCEMENT MEETING

On Wednesday afternoon, Gov. Hogan spent time meeting with members of the Montgomery County FOP Lodge 35 in Montgomery Village.


Gov. Hogan: “Advocating for Maryland’s law enforcement always has been and always will be a top priority of mine, and they will always be able to count on my unwavering support.”

SUPPORTING SMALL BUSINESS

On Wednesday evening, Gov. Hogan was honored to join the Associated Builders and Contractors to talk about his plan to be a champion for small businesses in the United States Senate.

On Thursday, June 27, Gov. Hogan received the endorsement of the National Federation of Independent Businesses.

Gov. Hogan: “I am truly honored to receive the endorsement from the NFIB, the leading organization representing small and independent business owners.

Small business owners know I have their backs, and I’m so honored they have mine in this fight for Maryland and America’s future.”

HOUSING AFFORDABILITY
On the same day, Gov. Hogan visited the Interfaith Housing Alliance in Frederick. The IHA is a nonprofit affordable housing developer helping vulnerable Marylanders access the autonomy of homeownership.


It works in partnership with local community organizations to address the housing, healthcare, and financial needs for Marylanders in need, including survivors of domestic violence.


Gov. Hogan: “This month is National Homeownership Month, and I strongly commend IHA’s efforts to assist countless Marylanders hoping to make their dream of owning their own home a reality.


In the face of sky-high home prices and underfunding from the state, IHA is fighting an uphill battle to continue providing these critical services. We have to make life in Maryland more affordable for organizations like IHA and the communities they serve.


Yesterday I released a five-point plan to do just that, and in the Senate, I will fight to make housing more affordable for Marylanders and all Americans.”

Hi, it’s Governor Larry Hogan.


When I launched my campaign for the U.S. Senate, I did so with a deep resolve to maintain the leadership style and principles that guided me during my eight years as governor.


Fifty years ago, my father, Maryland Congressman Larry Hogan Sr. made a tough decision. He became the first Republican to come out for the impeachment of President Nixon. He put aside party politics and his own personal considerations and stepped up to do the right thing for Maryland and the nation.


Today, Washington is completely broken because that kind of leadership and willingness to put country over party has become far too rare. But it’s not in my nature to sit back and watch the dysfunction continue without doing what I can to roll up my sleeves and get to work.


I’m under no illusion this will be an easy road. But I’m no stranger to uphill battles, and I know I can’t do it without your support.


I don't aspire to be a United States senator. I don’t need a title and I don’t need a job, but I’m more concerned than ever about the direction of the country and I have become more convinced that I can make a difference by taking the approach and style of leadership I had during my eight years as governor to Washington.

It’s no surprise this mindset has made me a target of the Washington partisans. Despite early polls showing a lead, I know I’m the underdog in this race. And that’s why your support TODAY is so crucial.
