It was an extra busy week with so much breaking news on Friday that I will need to send another roundup before the Independence Day break. For now, I’m back to keep you in the loop on a few ways that I am fighting for our conservative values.
My team and I have been monitoring the destructive flooding threatening our Minnesotan communities, especially in the southwest portion of the district. We are working closely with state and local authorities for their greatest needs from sewer infrastructure to power generators in Windom. I led the Minnesota delegation in a letter urging Governor Walz to submit a Major Disaster Declaration request for the communities impacted by this flooding. This declaration will help release federal resources for individuals in the affected area, bringing much-needed relief. In times of natural disaster, it’s important that federal, state and local parties work in tandem to help our neighbors in need.
My commitment to life didn’t end with the overturn of Roe v. Wade. If anything, it emboldened me because being pro-life is so much more than being anti-abortion. It means helping women successfully carry their baby to term and giving them the resources they need to be great mothers. That’s why on the second anniversary of the Dobbs decision, I introduced the MOMS Act, legislation that would provide critical support to women during and after their pregnancy. While the Democrats push for limitless abortions and dissuade women from carrying a new life to term, I am proud to be a resolute advocate for life at every stage. I will continue standing with the pro-life community to empower women to feel confident in choosing life.
What we witnessed Thursday night on the presidential debate stage was an embarrassment to our nation. It is clear Joe Biden is unfit to serve a second term, even political pundits and Democrat operatives agree. President Donald J. Trump was the decisive winner of the debate. This fall, we need to elect leaders who will deliver an America First agenda for Minnesotans. That is why Republicans, conservatives, and independents alike must work together and deliver our ten electoral votes for President Trump this November. |
