Yes, we know that this sounds like a fundraising gimmick. But trust us: the reasons for it couldn’t be more important.

• This is the first FEC deadline since Michael became the official Democratic nominee. If we post a weak FEC report, our MAGA opponent and her right-wing backers will take it as a sign of weakness and pummel us with even more attacks and outside spending.
   
• SC-01 is THE most competitive House district in South Carolina. We’re expecting outside groups to spend millions to maintain Republican control of the House.
   
• We’re pacing 14% behind our end-of-quarter fundraising goal. Falling short would put us in deep trouble here in SC-01 and risk reclaiming our Democratic House majority.

Asking you for $1 with 1 day until our FEC deadline is a little silly, we’ll admit, but the truth is that this race will have national implications. So please, rush $1 or whatever you can to ensure we post a strong FEC report.
