John,
What happens in courts can impact our rights for generations.
A few days ago, the Supreme Court decided pregnant people in Idaho can access emergency abortion care, at least for now, but the Court failed to reaffirm that emergency abortion care is protected for all by longstanding federal law. Three of the justices indicated their willingness to leave patients to bleed in parking lots and force doctors to negotiate with hospital lawyers about whether the loss of one organ is enough harm to get care. The dissent reveals the ultimate goal of anti-abortion extremists: to ban abortion nationwide. We must be prepared to fight harder than ever.
But this work depends on support from people like you, and with just one day left until our membership deadline and our matching gift opportunity expires, we’re short of our goal.
Before tomorrow’s MIDNIGHT deadline, will you commit your support to the National Women’s Law Center to power our work in and out of courts? We need 53 more people to hit our goal―and every membership gift before June 30 will be MATCHED.
We’ve still got a few more Title IX totes available, so if you respond by our deadline, we’ll send you one for FREE as our thanks!
NWLC started out as one fierce lawyer more than 50 years ago. Leveraging the full power of the law to defend our rights is in our DNA. We’ve done it all, from bringing critical, novel cases to protect and defend gender justice and arguing them all the way to the Supreme Court, filing “friend of the court” briefs in landmark cases, and supporting the confirmation of an incredibly diverse pool of federal judges, including record numbers of women of color and LGBTQIA+ justices.
Pending cases will soon make tectonic impacts on our rights by answering questions like:
We can win these cases and so many others with your help.
Just like the recent settlement we entered with an insurance company that has agreed to change its policies to ensure that LGBTQIA+ couples seeking to get pregnant have equal access to fertility treatments.
Help us build on this victory by committing your membership before midnight tomorrow.
Don’t wait: this FREE Title IX tote offer expires tomorrow as well.
In solidarity,
Emily Martin
