I just got back from Grand Rapids, where I shared the stage with a group of badass women working to elect a pro-choice champion, Elissa Slotkin, to the U.S. Senate.

Today, I wanted to share with you a dispatch from the ground in an ultra-important swing state and talk about why it’s absolutely critical to send Elissa to the Senate.

In the two years since the Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization decision, we've seen unrelenting attacks on reproductive freedom with devastating consequences.

We can't restore our rights and freedoms or turn back these attacks without securing pro-choice power. And that means winning elections.

And there is no better model than Michigan. In 2022, Michigan overturned the state's 1931 abortion ban, codified reproductive freedom in the state constitution, and elected a pro-choice Governor, state House and state Senate.

Now, it's time to do the same at the federal level. But if we don't elect Elissa Slotkin in Michigan, Republicans will almost certainly take control of the Senate and not only block pro-choice legislation, but also advance a federal abortion ban. We cannot afford to put Republicans in charge.

That's the choice that is in front of voters in Michigan this November.

But Elissa's race is going to come down to the wire — with public polls showing a dead-heat. So she needs all of us banding together to send her to the Senate and keep Michigan blue. That's why I'm asking you to join me in supporting Elissa, a fierce fighter and pro-choice champion. Will you split a donation between EMILYs list and Elissa's campaign?
