and how you can help us fight back against the web of dark money that made this possible
Hi—
In case you missed it yesterday, six Supreme Court justices overturned the long-standing Chevron Doctrine we told you about earlier this month—and we have Big Oil to blame.
The decision is a major blow to the power of EPA and other expert agencies, and the millions Big Oil spent to influence this decision is all part of their desire to pollute more by undermining climate progress.
Evergreen is committed to doing everything we can to call out the six oil-drenched justices on the Supreme Court and to keep fighting for federal agencies to take urgent, ambitious climate action—but we don't have the kind of funds that Big Oil does.
Will you rush a donation of $5, $10, or more right now so that we can take this fight to the next level?

Subject: Dark money, SCOTUS, and Big Oil: It's all connected
Hi there,
The Supreme Court is about to deliver the Big Oil-backed Koch network a big win later this month—here's what you need to know and what we can do about it.
The Chevron doctrine (also called Chevron deference) has been used for decades, directing courts to defer to the experts at federal agencies when interpreting complex or unclear laws.
Now, the Supreme Court is about to release a ruling that could kill or limit this commonsense practice.
And this has a huge impact on climate and many other issues you may care about. It'll allow rightwing, climate-denying judges to step in with their own legal interpretations, no matter what the experts at agencies like the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) say.
SHOW ME WHAT THIS MEANS FOR CLIMATE
How we got here: This case has Big Oil's fingerprints on it all the way through. They helped Donald Trump stack the court with a bunch of corrupt justices, brought the sham case being used to overturn Chevron, paid for the lawyers arguing the case, and are close to their goal of undermining EPA and other agencies' ability to do their job.
Where we must go: There is a way we can take back the court and advance democracy and climate action. We dive deeper in our latest blog.
This web of dark money and power used the Supreme Court to shift power away from technical experts to themselves—corporate interests.
It's time we—the public—fight back. Read our latest to find out how.
Onward,
