Dear john,

This Gun Violence Awareness Month, we continue to elevate the stories of survivors and promote solutions to bring an end to senseless gun violence. As we near the end of this crucial month, here are the latest updates from Washington:

On Wednesday, I hosted a press conference with my colleagues on the Gun Violence Prevention Task Force to announce my discharge petition which would force a vote on my Federal Extreme Risk Protection Order (FERPO) Act in the Republican-led House. This bill would permit law enforcement and family members to petition a judge to temporarily remove firearm access from those who are deemed a danger to themselves or to others. With extreme risk laws already in place in twenty-one states and the District of Columbia, my FERPO legislation would expand red flag laws nationwide. This week, I was proud to share the story of how my office helped Aaron from Lawrenceville access lifesaving medication from Tricare. Aaron is a veteran, and as the daughter of a military family myself, I know just how important it is that we uphold our obligations to the men and women who served our country. It was my honor to get him the help he deserves.

Graphic reads: "I would have never received my lifesaving Fasenra pen medication from Tricare without the help of Rep. Lucy McBath's office. One-of-a-kind service that is unmatched in any governmental agency I have engaged with. Thank you for supporting the troops- I now can live a better and healthier life because of this!" -Aaron from Lawrenceville

My district office is going mobile once again! On Monday, July 1st from 11 am until 1 pm, you are invited to stop by the Mountain Park library for my next Mobile Office Hours! My staff will be available to answer any questions you may have about federal casework. If you need help with any federal agency issue, please visit us on Monday so we can get started on your case. No appointment is needed, but please send us a message at [email protected] if you plan on stopping by.
