Dear John,

We are just a few days away from July 2, when the June 18 primary election is expected to be certified by the State Board of Elections. This is simply a required first step, before a recount can be requested and the outcome of the election can be challenged.

This race is not over, and it won’t be until we know that every vote was legally counted. The canvasses only show a snapshot of what happened on Election Day. They do not show the potentially overlooked ballots, the undervotes which are NOT counted for the canvass, or the missed machine counts. All the ballots are re-assessed in a recount, and this helps provide the opportunity for mistakes to be corrected.

I owe it to the more than 31,000 voters who voted for me – and the people that invested so much time, resources, and energy to win this race – to pursue this recount. And, after the certification, we will indeed pursue a recount, and we will likely file a legal challenge to contest this race. However, there is a cost to this effort, and we need the best experts and legal minds working with our team. I am asking you to contribute to this effort today!

I appreciate all the prayers and the words of encouragement you have sent to me, my family, and my team. I remain a servant of the people of the 5th District. This seat belongs to you, and I am forever grateful to you for entrusting it to me over these first two terms.

Thank you for in advance for contributing to support my recount! Please give today by clicking here.

For God and Country,

Bob
