Dear John,

As your Congressman, my job is to deliver federal tax dollars back to the people I serve. In the three years since Community Project Funding was reintroduced, I’ve proudly secured more than $83 million in federal funds for Northeast Pennsylvania.

These projects will make a real difference in our district by strengthening infrastructure, creating good-paying jobs, supporting public safety, and boosting economic development.

That's why I'm happy to have secured $2.6 million for Marywood's Pascucci Family Health Sciences Pavilion as part of my Fiscal Year 2023 Community Project Funding request.

This project will provide Marywood with a best-in-class facility that will attract more students to Scranton and enhance the university's ability to provide medical training opportunities that will benefit students, open the door to good-paying jobs, and help address the shortage of health care providers in communities across our region.

I am proud to report that I've been named a "Bipartisan Champion" by the Common Ground Committee.

Since arriving in Congress, I’ve worked with Democrats and Republicans to get things done.

As a result, I’ve introduced more bills with Democratic and Republican support than any other House Democrat since I was first elected.

I've also succeeded in authoring and passing 16 substantive bills into law, signed and enacted by the last three Presidents.

That's why I've been named one of the most effective House Democrats by the nonpartisan Center for Effective Lawmaking.

I firmly believe that people want their elected leaders to work together in order to do what’s right for our country.

I’m committed to working in a bipartisan manner to find areas of common ground on matters that will make a positive difference in the lives of the people I serve, regardless of political affiliation.

Last week, I presented an amendment during the Financial Services and General Government Appropriations markup meeting to protect consumers, jobs and workers' earnings. 

While other members are proposing cuts to the Federal Trade Commission's (FTC) funding, I am committed to ensuring that this vital watchdog agency has the means to combat the rising costs of groceries, gas, healthcare and more.

In honor of Deafblind Awareness Week and Helen Keller’s Birthday, I introduced my Deafblind DATA Act this week, which would require the U.S. Census Bureau to publish data on the deafblind population.

This commonsense legislation, with support from both Democrats and Republicans, will help to overcome barriers and identify policy gaps for Americans experiencing the combination of hearing loss and vision loss, also known as deafblindness.

As members of Congress, it is our responsibility to ensure that all of our constituents have access to the resources and opportunities available to them.

Without a comprehensive national picture of the deafblind population, these individuals may not receive the support needed to thrive.

My Deafblind DATA Act represents a significant and meaningful step towards identifying policy gaps for deafblind individuals, which will ensure that all members of our communities are being represented
