John,
From the first Pride march in 1970 to today's global celebrations, the spirit of Stonewall lives on. The legacy of Stonewall reminds us that as we celebrate Pride, we must also recognize that our resistance to oppressive systems around us remains critical to creating a world where everyone is safe and free to be unapologetically themselves wherever they call home. The Stonewall Uprising wasn’t the first act of LGBTQ+ resistance, but it became a rallying cry. As we reflect on the courage and resilience of those who fought back at Stonewall, we are inspired to continue their fight for justice and equality alongside our state-based partners. Together, we’ve achieved once unimaginable milestones. As we commemorate this important anniversary, we thank you for helping us continue to make history. With Pride, |
