Greetings,
We hope you've had a great week and hope everyone had a meaningful Pride Month! As we near the end of the month, it is critical to remember how everything we recognized in June, from Pride Month to Juneteenth and Gun Violence Awareness Month, cannot just be marked with words and sentiments during this month only. These are ongoing commitments from us all to continue working to make our communities safer, more inclusive, and achieve the justice and equality our country promises to all. June is full of wonderful and important chances to celebrate and shine a spotlight on what we have ahead of us!
As always, we hope you find these updates and resources helpful.
Congressman Kim Hosts 76th Town Hall on Gun Violence Prevention
At his 76th town hall, Congressman Kim heard directly from neighbors, shared updates from his recent work in Congress, and emphasized the need for continued legislative action to end the gun violence epidemic during National Gun Violence Awareness Month. The Congressman was joined by Aditya Bala, Founder and Director of the East-Windsor-Hightstown Kindness Initiative at Hightstown High School, who spoke about their work to support young people’s mental health and promote kindness in our community to help combat violence, bullying, and hate.
During the town hall, Congressman Kim also expressed his disappointment in the Supreme Court’s recent Snyder v. United States decision and his ongoing work to restore Americans’ trust in government, including through legislation to take on issues like bribery and stock-trading.

Tackling Transit Nightmares for New Jerseyans
Congressman Kim began his town hall this week by addressing the egregious NJ Transit and Amtrak delays impacting New Jersey commuters and his ongoing efforts to find immediate solutions to these service interruptions. This past week, Congressman Kim and the full New Jersey delegation sent a letter demanding an extensive and immediate investigation by the U.S. Department of Transportation.
New Jerseyans deserve reliable, safe, and efficient public transit, which is why Congressman Kim delivered historic investments for public transit in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. With absurd delays, this is not the commute or service they are getting right now. Read the full letter here as Congressman Kim continues to advocate for our New Jersey commuters.
Virtual Roundtable on Supporting LGBTQ+ Youth
This week, we were proud to continue celebrating Pride Month and hosted a roundtable conversation with guest speakers on supporting local LGBTQ+ youth. We are so grateful to our speakers who shared their experiences in our local community and helped discuss different ways, as neighbors and peers, we can support our young LGBTQ+ community and advocate for others to do the same.
If you missed us, catch up on the conversation here!
Marking Two Years Without Roe
This Monday marked the second anniversary since Roe v. Wade was overturned. Millions have felt the cost of the Dobbs decision two years ago with dangerous attacks on reproductive rights continuing to spread across the nation.
The devastation it unleashed can and must be stopped by restoring Roe's protections and passing the Women's Health Protection Act into law.
Standing with LGBTQ+ Servicemembers
This week, President Biden pardoned thousands of LGBTQ+ servicemembers who were wrongly convicted and forced out of the military because of their sexual orientation or gender identity. We applaud President Biden for taking such an important step toward justice and for standing with our LGBTQ+ servicemembers. Addressing mistakes of our past is essential to building a safe and more inclusive future.
Nine Years of Marriage Equality
Nine years ago, #LoveWins echoed across the nation after the Supreme Court’s Obergefell v. Hodges decision defined marriage equality as the law of the land! This week, we helped celebrate this milestone and honored the courage of the advocates and leaders who made it possible. Congressman Kim will continue to do his part in Congress to support the LGBTQ+ community and ensure that people are free to love who they choose, including by passing the Respect for Marriage Act into law two years ago to codify and protect marriage equality across the country.
