John -- Brand New Congress candidate Ihssane Leckey in Massachusetts' 4th district needs your help to get on the ballot! Ihssane’s campaign is required to garner 2000 signatures from constituents in her district to appear on the ballot for the 2020 primaries. She needs to garner 900 more signatures, and they only have until May 5th to gather all they need. As you can imagine, gathering signatures during a pandemic is a challenge, considering reaching people in person isn’t an option. Just this week, the Massachusetts State Legislator voted down a measure to lower the signature requirements. The signatures gathered must follow the state election commission’s guidelines to be viable. Since going door to door is no longer an option, Ihssane’s team has worked hard to create a digital initiative and system for gathering the signatures needed. The next three weeks are critical for Ihssane’s campaign. After a year and a half of campaigning, the future of Ihssane’s campaign comes down to these critical signatures.
Once the form is filled out, Ihssane’s team will mail you a nomination form, instructions, a return envelope, and postage. They are also available to pick up forms if you are unable to mail. If you have already signed a form, sign up again if there are others in your household (or building, neighborhood) that you can collect signatures from safely.
We are gearing up to face similar challenges in races across the country as our candidates find innovative ways to campaign while respecting COVID-19 guidelines. If you can afford a small contribution, you can still help us reach voters in the lead up to our primaries. Chip in $5 to fund our digital outreach. Thank you for your help. Yours for the revolution, Zeynab Day |
