I hope you and your family are well! I wanted to provide you with a few updates regarding what’s going on –

Appropriations - FY25

I voted YES on HR8774 the Department of Defense Appropriations Act. This bill funds our nuclear armament, ensures necessary training for our warfighters, defunds abortion tourism, fights back on the flow of deadly drugs like fentanyl, and pulls back $18 billion in wasteful spending requested by the Biden administration.

I voted YES on the Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Act. This bill makes drastic spending cuts to foreign aid, ensures we protect babies from abortion, defunds radical NGOs, and supports Israel and Taiwan.

China Kills American Jobs

America is in a new Cold War with the Chinese Communist Party.

China cheats in global trade which directly hurts companies like Electrolux in the Third District. China is cheating by pumping cheap products into America through Thailand.

Southern Border Invasion

Americans have died because of the Biden Border Crisis. Under Joe Biden, every state is a border state. The invasion at the southern border is unprecedented.

It’s past time to build the wall to secure our border and make the drug and human trafficking cartels pay for it!

Supreme Court Rulings

This week, the Supreme Court issued numerous rulings. Let me explain the the most impactful cases that were handed down.

On Wednesday, the Supreme Court ruling in Murthy v. Missouri sets the stage for the legal suppression of speech by the White House. This ruling puts us one step closer to Orwell’s 1984.

Second, the citizens earned a great win as the Supreme Court dealt a blow to climate activists by stopping the EPA’s Good Neighbor Plan which was designed to shut down fossil fuels in America.

I led a letter to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission in November 2023 with Chair Rodgers and Subcommittee Chair Johnson pointing out the issues with this plan. Additionally, I joined an amicus brief to the Supreme Court urging them to strike down the Good Neighbor Plan.

I fought back against this overreach from the EPA and am proud the Supreme Court rightly decided this issue.

Today, the Supreme Court handed down a monumental ruling to end the Chevron Doctrine that has allowed Federal agencies to abuse their power.

A great example of the abuse allowed by the Chevron Doctrine is Joe Biden’s horrendous student loan forgiveness plans. I’m glad to see the Court strip power from Federal agencies and give the Judicial system the authority to rule specifically on the legality and Constitutionality of overreach by Federal agencies.

Lastly, I’m disappointed in the Supreme Court’s declining to rule in Idaho v. United States. This decision means hospitals will be required to commit abortions. The Legislature in Idaho is already working to revise their law as the suit has been working its way through the Courts.

Election Interference

This week, the Judiciary Committee released a report that alleges 51 government officials conspired to interfere in the 2020 election by falsely telling Americans that Hunter Biden’s laptop was Russian disinformation.

Americans can see clearly that Hunter’s laptop is real, and that American intelligence agencies began a propaganda mission on behalf of the Biden campaign.

2 Years After Dobbs

Monday was the 2-year anniversary of the Dobbs decision which means countless states have enacted laws to protect the unborn from being murdered by abortion.

I will always fight to protect the unborn and ensure your tax dollars do not fund abortions.

Combatting Chinese Doping

As the world prepares for the Paris Olympics, the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations is hearing from Olympians as we examine allegations of mass Chinese cheating in the last Olympic Games.

On Tuesday, we heard first-hand from Olympians Allison Schmitt and Michael Phelps—the greatest Olympian of our lifetime.

China must be held accountable for the clear allegations of doping their Olympic athletes. No country should be given the pass that China was given after 23 athletes were found to be doping.

Let's require a level playing field for our great, American athletes.

Radicals Want to Destroy America

If you support the Constitution, read the Bible, want our kids to not be targeted by trans and LGBT activists, and want the Government budget to radically be reduced, then the left will attack you and call you a domestic terrorist just like they did concerned parents who showed up to school board meetings to fight for their kids.

How did we get to the point in our country where singing the National Anthem is racist but mutilating the genitals on a child to “trans” them into another gender is heroic?

How many of the wannabe terrorists who shut down American colleges by rioting in support of Hamas have ever read the U.S. Constitution? I’m guessing very few.

Freedom and liberty are under attack. Joe Biden wants to take away your natural gas appliances, force you to drive an EV, and make your tax dollars pay for abortions.

I'm shocked at where radical leftists are trying to take our country. We must keep America as the "shining city on the hill."

Legislative Action

I cosponsored H.R. 8804, Rep. Luna’s bill, that requires the Department of Homeland Security to administer DNA tests to children brought across the border to ensure familial connection and crack down on child trafficking.

I cosponsored H.R. 8803, Rep. Luna’s bill, that modifies the Immigration and Nationality Act to raise the cash penalty on employers who hire or recruit illegal immigrants.

In the District

Congratulations to Schneider Electric on their expansion in Oconee County! Currently, they have an "engineer-to-order facility" in Seneca that will receive an investment to add HVAC electrification. Additionally, this investment will create 130 new jobs.

ElringKlinger Group announced this week a $40.3 million investment into it's Pickens County. This will be the automotive suppliers first facility in South Carolina!
