Jack, the Supreme Court has just ruled hospitals in Idaho must provide emergency abortion care when necessary to prevent serious health risks, regardless of state law. For now, this decision ensures that people facing a health emergency in Idaho can get the care they need, including abortions, without interference from politicians who oppose care for pregnant people.

This, and more, must be the full law of the land, nationwide. The Supreme Court’s decision was a punt ahead the election–so you know we have more fights to come to ensure we have access across the country.

This is continues to be a test of our relentless activism and our continued fight for reproductive freedom for all in a post-Dobbs America. Unfortunately, the Court will likely have to revisit this case, and more abortion related cases including our access to medication abortion.

That just means we keep fighting. We cannot provide the Supreme Court the vehicle to continue to decimate our bodily autonomy.

That is why Congress can and must act now. We need to federally enshrine abortion right now! We need to repeal the Comstock Act right now! And we, as voting Americans, need to elect Congresspeople to do that. And we can, and will, vote for abortion in every state where it is on the ballot to ensure that pregnant people’s access to life-saving care are not dictated by extremist politicians.
