Dear neighbor,
This week marked the two-year anniversary of the Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe v. Wade, which ended decades of precedent protecting a woman’s right to choose. Across the country, we have seen states enact cruel, restrictive bans on reproductive health care for women. House Republicans have introduced legislation to ban abortion nationally.
House Democrats and the Biden Administration are working to protect fundamental freedoms for all Americans. That’s why I am pleased to cosponsor the Women’s Health Protection Act, which would codify the protections granted to Americans in the Roe v. Wade decision.
I am also committed to protecting IVF against attacks from conservative extremists in Congress. People, not politicians, should make their own decisions about how and when to start their families. Watch my full remarks from this week’s House Democratic Caucus leadership press conference below.
LOWERING COSTS FOR AMERICAN FAMILIES: House Democrats know that prices are too high for American families. That’s why we’re working with the Biden Administration to lower prices and fight back against corporate greed. Since President Biden took office, we’ve lowered health care costs, brought down the price of utilities and groceries, and eliminated junk fees. Additionally, we've now seen two months of lower inflation. While this is great progress, our work continues to lower costs and ease strain on American families.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Last week I joined MSNBC’s Nicole Wallace to discuss the new Stop Project 2025 Task Force. Project 2025 is a radical plan endorsed by MAGA extremists that would infringe upon Americans’ fundamental freedoms and drag our country back decades. PHOTO OF THE WEEK: I was pleased to join my House Democratic Caucus colleagues at a press conference marking the two-year anniversary of the overturning of Roe v. Wade earlier this week. As a member of the Pro-Choice Caucus, I remain committed to protecting and expanding American women’s access to reproductive health care.
