We want to let you in on something. Hope you're well John, January reports indicated that the UN and its partner organizations plan to distribute approximately $372 million in 2024 through “Cash and Voucher Assistance” (CVA) and “Multipurpose Cash Assistance” (MCA) to around 624,000 in-transit migrants heading toward the United States. This assistance often takes the form of pre-paid, rechargeable debit cards, bank transfers, mobile transfers, and sometimes hard cash in envelopes (CIS.org). These funds support illegal aliens' journeys and encourage onward movement toward the U.S. border. Representative Mace is committed to ensuring that our taxpayer dollars support the interests of our country over the desires of unelected bureaucrats in the United Nations and other international bodies. To this end, she introduced an amendment to the fiscal year 2025 Department of State and Foreign Operations Appropriations bill to redirect $500 million away from the State Department’s Migration and Refugee Assistance account to the International Narcotics Control and Law Enforcement account. Representative Mace’s amendment was approved by a bipartisan vote of 213-199, and it now one step closer to becoming law. The redirection of these funds is an important step in cracking down on illegal immigration and ending transnational drug trafficking into our country. The State Department’s Migration and Refugee Assistance account sends hard-earned American taxpayer dollars to the UN and other international institutions, which in turn undermine our border security and facilitate illegal immigration by providing cash to migrants heading toward our border. Additionally, these agencies lobby the President to weaken our immigration system and undermine border security. For instance, the International Organization for Migration has pushed to remove the effective "Remain in Mexico" policy from the Trump administration. Redirecting this money to the International Narcotics Control and Law Enforcement account will bolster our fight against international drug cartels bringing fentanyl and other illicit drugs into the U.S. This transfer will provide law enforcement with the necessary resources to disrupt the production and distribution of these drugs, saving American lives.
