Google’s love for its adtech suite? That’s a monopolycule.

Adtech thrives in opacity, and if Google thought a bench trial in its monopoly case would save it from scrutiny, we’ve got some bad news.

We and a coalition of leading antitrust and civil society organizations have launched USvGoogleAds.com! It’s a hub for explaining Google's adtech products, key adtech terms, and the arguments of the trial from beginning to end.

We’re going to keep the public informed about this historic trial, and invite you to join us to learn about a case that has wide-reaching implications for everyday Google users, the news industry, and anyone who uses the internet.

Have you been keeping up with our WTFriday series? Last week’s TikTok highlighting how Costco is the latest retailer to start making money selling customers’ shopping data had people in the comments saying, “I don’t care who has my data.”

Well, you might! Investigative reporter Rachel Gilmore explains why in today’s WTFriday.

It's the principle of the thing!

The organization has taken up our recommendations from this past December, and the principles take into account the role adtech intermediaries play in monetizing hate, harassment, and harmful disinformation — much to dismay of advertisers themselves. Read 'em here.

We signed a letter sent to House Energy and Commerce Committee leadership on a privacy bill moving through Congress, because a privacy bill that excludes civil rights protections won’t protect us from the most serious abuses of our data.
