Dear John,

If you've been following us over these months, you're likely familiar with our efforts to conserve the red wolves, the most endangered species in the world: According to our calculations, fewer than 20 of these fantastic animals remain living freely in the wild.

We have an incredible story about the red wolves at Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge to share with you today. We'll explore the journey of a red wolf and his family—one that we've closely followed and documented. From the inspiring birth of new wolf pups to the tragic losses caused by a busy highway cutting through their habitat, this narrative highlights the urgent need for wildlife crossings on U.S. 64.

The crossings are not just about saving wolves; they are about preserving the rich biodiversity of the refuge. Ensuring the safety of countless species that call this area home is a crucial step towards maintaining the ecological balance and natural beauty of the region.
