# Marriage improved security, stability, and life satisfaction for same-sex couples

A
new survey ([link removed])of 484 married LGBTQ+ individuals across the United States reveals that marriage equality has significantly improved the security and well-being of LGBTQ+ people. The survey also shows that nearly 80% of respondents were concerned about the possible reversal of Obergefell v. Hodges, with many taking steps to safeguard their families by securing second-parent adoptions and considering a move to another state or country.

# More than 340,000 people in Mexico identify as nonbinary

Our new study in collaboration with
Yaaj México ([link removed])
finds an estimated 38% of the gender non-conforming population of Mexico ages 15 and older--approximately 340,620 people--identify as nonbinary. The majority of them are under the age of 24 and single. Researchers used data from the National Survey on Sexual and Gender Diversity, the first representative sample of nonbinary people in Mexico, to examine the sociodemographic characteristics, stressors, sexuality, health care, and mental health experiences of Mexico's nonbinary population.

The Scholar will be responsible for conducting original research, supervising and supporting early career staff, and engaging with a variety of stakeholders. Applicants who use intersectional and community-based approaches in their research are encouraged to apply.

Judicial and Legal Education Director & Scholar

The Williams Institute is seeking an experienced director to lead the Institute's educational programming for judges, lawyers, law students, and the public. The Director will also be responsible for running three of the Institute's premier annual programs: the Williams Institute Moot Court Competition, the Dukeminier Awards Journal, and the Institute's Annual Update Conference. After the second year in the position, the Director will teach a course at UCLA Law focused on sexual orientation, gender identity, and the law.
