John,
I want to talk openly and honestly about what we saw in this week’s Democratic primaries.
The millions of dollars spent by AIPAC - creating the most expensive Democratic primary on record - to defeat a working people’s champion like Jamaal Bowman was nothing short of a national disgrace.
AIPAC spent nearly $15 million backing a "Democratic" candidate who openly used racist dog whistles in a televised debate and throughout the campaign.
It’s shocking and vile but also what we have come to expect from an organization funded by right-wing Trump donors.
They did this all because Bowman stood with the majority of Democrats and 70% of Americans in demanding a Gaza ceasefire.
The truth is that we’re up against the same ugly political games here in CA-34.
My opponent, Jimmy Gomez, has taken more money from AIPAC this cycle than Donald Trump - and we know the attacks are coming.
I will never stop advocating for a ceasefire in Gaza. We are a movement on the right side of history, but we must raise $24,000 to hit our $100,000 goal by the end-of-quarter FEC deadline. Your support will ensure we have a representative who stands for justice and humanity, not special interests. Please contribute today to help us reach our goal.
This week was a perfect example of why so many become disillusioned by our political process.
It's hard to motivate people to vote when they see that the principles of the Democratic Party are so easily bought and sold - by Republican donors, no less!
Our campaign for CA-34 could not be more different. We are building a movement to inspire folks to get back involved, fight for justice, and demand a government prioritizing humanity over corporate interests.
We’re guided by three core values that put people first:
Life Empowering Policies: We can build a safety net to meet people’s basic needs, so everyone can thrive. This includes advocating for universal healthcare, affordable housing, and quality education.
Co-governance: To build a government truly of the people, by the people, and for the people, we must partner with the people of CA-34 and empower their participation. Your voice matters, and together, we can create lasting change.
People-Centered Politics: The status quo must go. We can shift back the paradigm of power by prioritizing the voice of the people, not the money of corporate donors and lobbyists.
Your contribution, whether it's $10, $25, $50, $100, or any amount you can spare, is not just financial support; it ensures that we can continue to build a people-first movement for peace both at home and abroad, and have the resources to take on the bad faith attacks from the right-wing special interests.
Thank you for being part of our team.
It’s time for us.
David Kim
