Take a deep breath: The first presidential debate is over. We know a lot of us are feeling anxious and overwhelmed about the presidential election.

But here’s the thing: the antidote to anxiety is action. The future of our country is not decided by televised debates. We decide it. And when our democracy is threatened by MAGA extremists, we can’t afford to tune out. We have to dial in.

There’s a lot we can’t control in this election—and that can be nerve-racking. But there’s also a lot we can control. And even more we can do. The fate of our democracy will come down to a few thousand votes in a handful of states in just 129 days. And how we invest our time and money now will be the difference.

Since launching in 2017, Swing Left’s mission has been simple: We make it easy for people to invest their time and money in the most competitive elections to help Democrats win and tip the balance of power. But we can’t solve every political problem we are facing all at once; we have to channel our energy into high-impact races and build Democratic power. For months, volunteers and supporters like you have been doing this work. And we have to dig in further and do more than we ever have.
