** Talking civics with teachers
------------------------------------------------------------
This week we were thrilled to meet with some of Utah’s best and brightest teachers. The Hinckley Institute of Politics at the University of Utah hosts the annual Huntsman Seminar every summer for middle and high school history and civic teachers. This is an opportunity for teachers to meet fellow civics educators and community leaders to discuss current events and issues that impact local, state, and national politics.
We’re so grateful for our civic and history educators, and we hope that these seminars improve the quality and accessibility of civic education in Utah schools!
** Connecting with innovative leaders
------------------------------------------------------------
At the USTelecom Leadership Summit in Park City, we discussed some great changes that are taking place in Utah, including expanding fiber networks and broadband throughout our rural communities and across the state. This is bringing new opportunities for businesses and families.
We will continue to work closely with the Legislature, UDOT, and others as we work to improve Utah's economy through efficient transportation, housing, connectivity, and water conservation policies.
** Safe and secure elections
------------------------------------------------------------
The Lieutenant Governor's team has been working tirelessly to ensure that our 29 county clerks have everything they need to conduct smooth and secure elections. Many of them stayed well into the night on election night to assist counties that were still processing ballots.
We want to thank the election team and our county clerks for their unwavering commitment and dedication to safe and secure elections in Utah. Their preparation undoubtedly paid off, and we are fortunate to have such dedicated professionals overseeing our electoral system!
** Celebrating the Department of Commerce
------------------------------------------------------------
This week Lt. Gov. Henderson was honored to highlight some of the remarkable achievements of the Department of Commerce this year, including establishing a new AI office.
Trust is important in all aspects of state government, and the Department of Commerce works diligently to earn that trust. Well done, Commerce team!

** What Makes Utah Home?
------------------------------------------------------------
Everyone has a different perspective of what makes Utah a home for them; for Robyn it was feeling a sense of community. From a young age Robyn struggled going in and out of the criminal justice system, but the Department of Corrections provided resources that made it possible to see change. It is now almost a decade since Robyn has been able to turn her life around and continue building positive relationships with others.
