With just 2 days before our critical FEC deadline, I need to ask you to chip in $2 to keep Delaware and the Senate blue.

Yes, I know that this sounds like a fundraising gimmick, but the reasons for it couldn't be more serious.

• Democrats are defending a 51-49 Senate majority and there is ONLY ONE Black woman in the Senate right now. I'm running to change that, but Black women candidates raise one-third of what white women candidates do.


• My opponent just self-funded his campaign with nearly $1 million. We need to be ready and able to respond to anything, whether that’s shady outside groups funding our opponent, attacks from the establishment, or even more opponents entering the race.


• I'm falling $25,923 short of our end-of-quarter fundraising goal. What we raise will set the tone for the next few months. If we don't close the gap, it could lead to us posting a weak fundraising report; a slew of outside spending; Delaware's Senate seat getting flipped. You get the idea.

Asking you for $2 with 2 days until our FEC deadline is a little silly, I'll admit, but the truth is that this race will have historic implications for our country. So please, rush $2 or whatever you can to ensure we post a strong FEC report.
