Stereophonic—now the Tony Award winner for Best Play—mines the agony and the ecstasy of creation as it zooms in on a music studio in 1976. The show features performances by Tony Award winner Will Brill (Oklahoma!) and Tony nominees Juliana Canfield (Succession), Eli Gelb (The Newsroom), Tom Pecinka (American Rust) and Sarah Pidgeon (The Wilds), with a book by David Adjmi (Marie Antoinette), an original score by Will Butler (Arcade Fire) and direction by Tony Award winner for Best Direction of a Play Daniel Aukin (Fool for Love).

After losing what matters most, a young man jumps a moving train unsure of where the road will take him. He finds a new home with the remarkable crew of a traveling circus and a life—and love—beyond his wildest dreams. Seen through the eyes of his older self, his adventure becomes a poignant reminder that life can begin again at any age.

Starring Grant Gustin (West Side Story), directed by Tony Award nominee Jessica Stone (Kimberly Akimbo), with a book by four-time Tony nominee Rick Elice (Jersey Boys) and a score by the PigPen Theatre Co., Water for Elephants—adapted from Sara Gruen’s best-selling novel and Tony-nominated for Best Musical—is a deeply moving new musical that invites us all to give ourselves to the unknown.
