The White House has released a new “lowering cost agenda” that they describe as “lowering costs in key areas—from health insurance premiums and prescription drug prices to utility bills, groceries, and gas.” As part of their cost agenda, the White House is bringing back familiar themes of price gouging and asking the wealthy to “pay their fair share.”

The Biden campaign is right to be worried about rising costs on their watch. Our latest Presidential Inflation Rate — which tracks the cumulative rate of increase since the start of the Biden administration — has gone over the 20% mark (20.1%) as of the last CPI report.

In the wake of Trump’s guilty verdict, Republicans are energized at a new level, as is the Democratic base. From a report this week, Democrats plan to put $50 million through the end of June into an ad campaign defining the choice as “between a convicted criminal who's only out for himself and a president who's fighting for your family.”
