As we look ahead towards the general election, we are embarking on a race to 270 Electoral College votes.

And look, we can't let Donald Trump squeeze out another victory by the skin of his teeth in critical Electoral College states.

Remember 2016? Trump could very well lose the popular vote once again but still win re-election through the Electoral College. If Trump wins these states, Trump wins the presidency.

Michigan: Trump by 10,704 votes
Wisconsin: Trump by 22,748 votes
Pennsylvania: Trump by 44,292 votes

Those three states account for 46 Electoral College votes alone, and Republicans are zeroing in on them -- Trump's super PAC launched a multi-million dollar anti-Biden TV campaign in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.

We can't sit idly by and let Trump cement his lead and win the presidency. That's why we've set an ambitious April fundraising goal and we'll use every dollar to increase Democratic turnout in key Electoral College states in November.

There are 199 days left until the General Election, and we will need to make critical investments in the states where we expect the vote margins to be the tightest.

Now, the form of those investments could mainly be virtual, and there is a lot of uncertainty on both sides of the aisle in what our campaigns will look like this fall.

But regardless, we need Democratic voter turnout to SKYROCKET and that will take a massive amount of resources. If we can't accomplish this, Donald Trump may squeak out another victory on the Electoral College system alone.
