June 30 is the end of the fundraising quarter for political campaigns. That means President Biden, candidates for Congress, and who knows how many candidates for other offices down ballot are all competing for space in your email inbox and on your phone because they all want you to contribute before their deadlines.
Daily Kos has goals too. Daily Kos is not a campaign for office—we're a progressive, independent news and activism hub. We don't have to file a big report with the FEC at the end of the fundraising quarter, but we have goals that we need to hit to pay our bills and make ends meet. A supermajority of our income comes from donations made by readers and activists like you.
We're in real danger of missing this month's goal. We've struggled to meet our goals in recent months, and now emails like this one might get lost in the shuffle with the hundreds of other emails and texts and phone calls you're probably getting right now.
