On the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day
The COVID-19 Death Toll exceeds 150,000
The Great Lock-down crashes the World Economy
We Demand a Just Recovery: Build Back a Sustainable World
Fifty years ago a mass movement began. We didn’t know what #ExxonKnew, but we knew that chemical emissions, plastic and poisons were destroying the air, land and water.
We now know that those most responsible for the carbon emissions heating the planet to a level of mass extinction are the fossil fuel industry and their investors, Chase, BlackRock and the top US banks.
As we can join globally to flatten the curve on COVID-19, we can flatten the curve on carbon emissions, which threaten all of human civilization. As we build back from this economic crisis we must support those that have been hurt the worst, ditch the fossil fuel profiteers and invest in the growth industries of wind and solar. Demand a #JustRecovery.
Confined to our homes, we will not be silent. This Earth Day will be a global 72-hour social media frenzy, a ringing collection of action, music, interviews, activists, celebrities, and thought leaders led by youth and frontline communities.
We need your support to make it successful: to seize this moment, shout it out on social media, and tell everyone in our lives: the global climate crisis will only be solved when everyone, everywhere, takes a stand. Get started at https://www.earthweeknyc.com/.

Help us disrupt their Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages and flood New York’s newsfeeds — our collective voices will not be ignored! Let’s mark Earth Day 50 as a turning point for our city! Strike with us and show that even in the face of this terrible pandemic we will keep fighting for our future!
Today, April 23rd we demand that J.P. Morgan Chase and Blackrock, two of the biggest Wall Street supporters of climate destruction, divest from fossil fuels and deforestation. The action will be featured, via a digital livestream for anyone to join and participate.
Post and tweet your photo with signs, posters, and art on social media sharing what you think about Chase, BlackRock, Welles Fargo and Liberty Mutual financing climate destruction, and promoting alternative options like Amalgamated Bank, Credit Unions, Aspiration Bank and other great points in the media kit. Check out our Instagram stories for ideas. Make a phone video of you cutting up your Chase or other bank cards. Have questions or need help? Contact [email protected].

Contact the Mayor and demand Passage of the Renewable Rikers Act
Mayor de Blasio, we demand action on the Renewable Rikers Act! These 3 bills would transfer Rikers Island out of the control of the Department of Corrections and launch planning for a visionary Solar Farm and modern Wastewater treatment plant on the Island! The Act provides for the infrastructure and leadership the city so desperately needs NOW, helping to end the blight of the Rikers Penal Colony, close peaker plants and reduce levels of chronic emissions-related heart and respiratory issues!
