Our work has not stopped since this decision. You would not know it from my Republican opponent, George Logan. Since the beginning of Pride month, he has had nothing to say to the LGBTQIA+ community.

John, this week is one of the most momentous of Pride month — yesterday we celebrated Equality Day, the 9th anniversary of the Supreme Court’s 2015 decision in Obergefell v. Hodges that paved the way for marriage equality nationwide.

Our work has not stopped since this decision. You would not know it from my Republican opponent, George Logan. Since the beginning of Pride month, he has had nothing to say to the LGBTQIA+ community.

Anti-LGBTQIA+ GOP megadonors have invested millions of dollars into CT-05 to defeat me, and the National Republican Congressional Committee has named me one of the their top five House targets.

George Logan would be just another rubber stamp for Speaker Mike Johnson’s far-right, anti-LGBTQIA+ agenda in the House, and this race is extremely close. John, chip in $5 to help me defend CT-05 so we can win back the House majority.

Since arriving in Congress, I was proud to cosponsor the Respect for Marriage Act that was signed into law by President Biden. That legislation officially protects same-sex and interracial marriages nationwide.

There is still so much work to do. We still need to pass the Equality Act to outlaw discrimination on the basis of gender or sexual orientation and protect access to housing, employment, credit, education, public spaces and services, and federal programs.

It is hard to believe that such discrimination is still legal in the United States, but if we can protect my seat in CT-05 and flip the House majority, we can pass the Equality Act.

With your $5 of support before my June 30 FEC deadline, I will hold my opponent George Logan accountable for his silence on LGBTQIA+ rights. Chip in today.

Thank you for your strong support, and for standing with our LGBTQIA+ community and all communities in CT-05 and across the country.

In solidarity,

Jahana Hayes
