Youth plaintiff Taliya

Aloha John,

Last week, we made history with the settlement of Navahine v. Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation – a first-of-its-kind agreement representing a true paradigm shift towards the recognition of young people’s constitutional rights to a healthy climate.

We powered youth voices, and they inspired all three branches of government to commit to work together to do what must be done according to best available science. And now, with this historic agreement, our work has just begun. Youth will have a seat at the leadership table to ensure Hawaiʻi’s success as it moves towards zero emissions by 2045. Our Children’s Trust will be right by their side.

Together, with your support, we sparked transformative change.

One of our key champions, the Delores Barr Weaver Legacy Fund has committed $100,000 to match all donations dollar for dollar. We invite you to contribute today to honor the thirteen young people whose determination brought us to this moment.

This victory is a result of the years of relentless work by Our Children’s Trust. This settlement offers hope – and concrete solutions – to the people of Hawaiʻi living with the daily impacts of the climate crisis. Two billion children around the world have the right to a healthy planet. Our movement is gaining momentum, our voices are growing stronger, and we are achieving real change.

We do this work at no cost to our youth clients and are 100% dependent on contributions to power our work forward coupled with the pro bono support of world-renowned experts and dedicated community partners. We need your help.

Please consider powering our mission with a gift to secure the right to a livable climate for all – especially our children and future generations. Your gift can help unlock another $100,000 to sustain our work. Mahalo.
