Hi friend,

This year, there are over two dozen priority bills that we are currently pushing through the legislature in Sacramento, that would have incredibly positive impacts on California’s climate resilience and fighting the climate crisis globally.

But passing every one of these bills won’t be easy. Many of the climate deniers and delayers in Sacramento are backed by Big Oil and their deep-pocketed corporate polluters allies.

While the numbers are thankfully trending down, more than half of state legislators still take oil money. And three of the biggest corporate polluters collectively spent over $6.5 million lobbying against climate action just between January and March.

But what these politicians and lobbyists don’t understand is that grassroots activism is more powerful than anything they can throw at us.

Our strength is in numbers, and we need you with us, friend.

If just a small percentage of people reading this email chipped in a few dollars, we’d have the resources we need to organize campaigns for each of these bills and to build awareness and advocacy power until they are all passed! Will you make a donation today to fuel our proven work?

SB 253, which requires pollution transparency for billion-dollar companies, was re-introduced after its previous incarnation failed to pass in the Assembly by one vote in 2022. In 2023, SB 253 passed in the Assembly with an impressive 49 votes, in large part because of our consistent lobbying and advocacy efforts.

We would love to use that same successful playbook on the bills being pushed this year, like AB 1176 which would prepare our infrastructure to take on greater electrification capacity, and AB 1221which would improve energy affordability and provide stronger worker protections, just to name a few.

We need every bit of help we can get to continue that success from 2023 continues into 2024. Please chip in a few dollars today — or support EnviroVoters for the long haul by becoming a monthly donor (and receive some awesome merch as our way of saying thanks)!

Every bit of support counts, friend. Thank you so much for your generosity and commitment to the fight.
