New pro-voting lawsuits filed in California and Louisiana

A pro-voter group sued California over its signature matching rules for mail-in ballots, saying that the process is “inconsistent and unreliable” and causes thousands of lawful mail-in ballots to be discarded every election.
Black residents of East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana filed a lawsuit alleging that the districts for the parish's metro council diminish the political power of Black voters, violating the U.S. Constitution and Voting Rights Act.

Update on Republican attack on New York absentee voting law

Oral argument is scheduled for Aug. 15 in a lawsuit filed by the New York Republican Party challenging a state law that aims to simplify the absentee ballot counting process.
