TELL CONGRESS: Chevron, Amazon, and J.P. Morgan Chase spent the pandemic taking advantage of consumers, and we need a windfall profits tax on the profits they made. Sign the petition: Pass Senator Bernie Sanders' Ending Corporate Greed Act!
Hi, Chevron, Amazon, and J.P. Morgan Chase spent the pandemic taking advantage of consumers to bring in annual profits $20 - $30 billion higher than before the pandemic.1 But it didn’t stop there, as mega-corporations use inflation as an excuse to price gouge consumers to keep their mega-profits rolling in. That’s why Senator Bernie Sanders just introduced the Ending Corporate Greed Act, which would tax big corporations at a rate of 95% for all corporate profits exceeding pre-pandemic levels.2 We need this windfall profits tax to hold corporations accountable, rein in corporate price hikes, and protect consumers! Investors and CEOs rake in cash while forcing consumers to spend more and more just to afford the basics and pay their bills. It’s a clear case of runaway corporate greed. “The American people are sick and tired of being ripped-off by large corporations that continue to make record-breaking profits by charging outrageously high prices for gas, rent, food, and prescription drugs,” said Senator Sanders upon introducing the legislation.3 Congress needs to champion this piece of legislation in order to END price gouging and STOP corporations taking advantage of consumers. Thanks for taking action, Sources:
