BREAKING from Politico: Oil industry group drops ballot initiative to drill near California homes

What this victory means: As of now, SB 1137, the 3,200-foot setback law passed in 2022, is once again the law of the land in California.

But it didn’t happen overnight…

- Jane’s unwavering leadership and tireless organizing were pivotal in this fight. Jane rallied the art world to raise $10 million in a single night to take on this referendum.

- She came together with environmental champions, front-line communities, and powerful allies like Nalleli Cobo, Governor Gavin Newsom, and former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to bring attention to this dirty measure at a press conference in March.

- In the final days before the June 27th deadline to remove measures from the CA ballot, Jane starred in a compelling ad with philanthropist Wendy Schmidt, LA County Supervisor Holly Mitchell, and activist Nalleli Cobo to remind Californians how detrimental this referendum was for our children, our communities, and our health.

- And of course, Jane reached out to this community on multiple occasions to raise money and awareness about Big Oil’s dirty scheme to overturn this life-saving law. By being a Jane PAC supporter, YOU played a part in this victory, John!
