John, I wanted to make sure you saw Nourbese's email. We have the chance to create a future where abortion care is affordable, available and accessible to all—but it's going to take a lot of work, and I hope we can count on your support.
Just this morning, the Supreme Court dismissed a case that would have banned abortions even in medical emergencies in Idaho. The dismissal reinstates a lower-court ruling that paused the state's near-total abortion ban, but let's be clear: this is no victory.
This case should have never been taken up by the Supreme Court in the first place… And the decision comes conveniently just five months before an election where abortion will be a defining issue. Dismissing the case has little to do with protecting people's health and safety and everything to do with politics. It's a matter of freedom for all or extreme power for a few.
Anti-abortion extremists in state legislatures are putting lives at risk with these harmful power plays. Their actions go against the beliefs and values of a majority of American voters—and they know it. That's why our work to mobilize and build power within our communities, to shift policy and culture and to put abortion on the ballot in the states for voters to decide is so important!
Please recommit to the fight for a more just future for all. Make a contribution today.
