PA Senate votes this week on DNA collection at arrest.

Stop mass DNA collection in PA

Lady Liberty. <[link removed]>

Pre-conviction DNA collection undermines privacy and the presumption of innocence. Tell your state senator to vote "no" on SB 988.

Take Action <[link removed]>

Friend –

It's a basic principle. People who have been arrested but not convicted are innocent until proven guilty. They have the right to due process of law. They have a right to be free from unreasonable searches and seizures. They have a reasonable expectation of privacy. And when it comes to privacy, there isn't anything more personal than our genetic information.

Some members of the state Senate don't get that. And so they've introduced legislation to collect and indefinitely store DNA from people who have been arrested for, but not convicted of, hundreds of crimes. No court approval. No search warrant. It flies in the face of our foundational constitutional principles.

This bill could be voted on as soon as this week. Will you take action now to tell your state senator to vote "no" on pre-conviction DNA collection? <[link removed]>

Pennsylvania already collects DNA samples from people who have been convicted of certain crimes. SB 988 proposes a massive expansion of genetic surveillance, seizing DNA from people who are innocent under the law, turning them into permanent suspects.

This bill has died in the legislature before. Help us defeat it again.

Take action now to tell your state senator to vote "no" on Senate Bill 988. <[link removed]>
