James, even Israelis think Congress made a terrible mistake inviting Netanyahu to speak in the Capitol. A group of prominent Israelis wrote in the New York Times how misguided and dangerous it was for Mike Johnson, Hakeem Jeffries, Chuck Schumer, and Mitch McConnell to invite Netanyahu to Congress.
Pro-Peace progressives like Bernie Sanders and Pramila Jayapal said this invite was a horrible idea from the very start. As Netanyahu’s regime continues its atrocities in Gaza, Congress shouldn’t be legitimizing his leadership with this speech.
Now, with a growing number of Americans, members of Congress, and Israelis saying Netanyahu’s speech is a bad idea, we must continue pushing for Congress to disinvite Netanyahu!
Add your name: All of Congress should agree that Netanyahu’s speech is a TERRIBLE idea. Disinvite Netanyahu! Schumer and Jeffries must NOT continue to legitimize Netanyahu’s regime.
While Congress awaits Netanyahu, we keep seeing headlines like this:
While Netanyahu’s regime kills tens of thousands of Palestinians and launches attacks with a complete disregard for the people of Gaza, Democratic leaders including Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries are still backing Netanyahu.
And Netanyahu continues to obstruct all efforts to broker a Ceasefire.
Democrats have handed the right-wing liars in Congress major political points with this Netanyahu invite. Mike Johnson has been saying Bernie is “siding with terrorists” by not attending this speech. The politics around this speech are disgusting, and Democratic leadership rubber-stamped all of it with their lack of courage.
Add your name: Urge Democratic leaders to rescind their support for Netanyahu’s speech to Congress. No Democrat should attend this speech!
When we organize, we win.
