Dear John,
I’m back in Washington, D.C., this week, where I am fighting for the protection of the Boundary Waters. Today, as I navigate the halls of Congress and gear up for a crucial meeting with Senator Smith, I’m reminded that our presence in our nation's capital reflects our unwavering dedication to Canoe Country.
Since 2013, we have traveled to D.C. almost every month and consistently engaged in advocacy efforts, meeting with members of the House of Representatives and Senators from across the United States to make the compelling case for safeguarding the Boundary Waters.
We also come out here to defend against the onslaught of attacks to Canoe Country by anti-Wilderness Congressional members, including northeastern Minnesota’s own Rep. Stauber who has not only introduced, but recently successfully passed, reprehensible legislation that would overturn our recent Boundary Waters protections opening up the entire watershed to toxic copper mining. This is unacceptable.
Now these harmful pieces of legislation are making their way to the Senate where I am focusing my time and energy this week but I need your help. Please contact your Senators TODAY and make sure they say no to these terrible pieces of legislation that would irrevocably harm the entire watershed of the Boundary Waters.
Please take a moment to stand with us by taking action today. [[link removed]]

Your support is pivotal as we confront the barrage of assaults on this cherished landscape in the heart of our nation's capital.
Thank you for your unwavering commitment to this cause. Together, let's ensure the preservation of the Boundary Waters for generations to come.
