John,

BREAKING NEWS: The Supreme Court just dealt a major blow to the Clean Air Act’s “Good Neighbor Rule” which sought to limit air pollution across state lines.

In a 5-4 decision, conservatives ruled that the EPA’s air pollution initiative must be put on hold for arcane procedural reasons - which effectively will allow fossil fuel heavy states (i.e. red states) to pollute into clean energy heavy states (i.e. blue states) for several more years to come.

Even conservative Justice Amy Coney Barrett thought her conservative colleagues went too far! She wrote the key dissent, siding with the liberal 3 justices. She wrote, “The Court’s injunction leaves large swaths of upwind States free to keep contributing significantly to their downwind neighbors’ ozone problems for the next several years.”

The Supreme Court is doing everything in their power to stop our climate progress! Will you please rush in a donation to help our SEEC Members in Congress fight back today? [[link removed]]

STAND UP TO THE SUPREME COURT » [[link removed] ]The conservative majority appointed by Trump cherry-picked this case in an extremely unusual manner so they could rule in the favor of states that want to pollute the environment without regulations.

The rule they just stayed said that red states and blue states must meet similar standards when it comes to our air quality so that our air is clean no matter what state you live in! But now, dirty states upwind of a clean state can effectively export their pollution and make it that state’s problem to deal with.

This is a major blow to the progress we’ve made to reduce air pollution on a state-by-state level. We have to fight back by winning this election and passing stronger environmental rules that the Supreme Court can’t overturn.

Will you please rush in a donation now to help us defend our planet and support our SEEC Members who are fighting to protect these important climate regulations? [[link removed]]
