Tell the NC Utilities Commission to hold Duke Energy accountable!» |
John, Duke Energy plans to raise your energy bills to increase their profit margins. They claim this increase is a necessary cost for the clean energy transition, but the investments are going towards dirty fossil fuel plants instead of renewables. These proposed plants emit methane, which is 80 times more potent than carbon dioxide, and they threaten our health and safety. North Carolina law requires Duke Energy to meet mandated carbon reduction standards by 2030. Instead of meeting this goal by investing in more renewable energy, Duke’s plan takes us backwards by investing in gas plants all while ever-increasing your energy rates. Tell the NC Utilities Commission to hold Duke Energy accountable and ensure a clean and sustainable future for all North Carolinians – stop Duke from putting profits over people.
