Dear John,
Many of you already know about our podcast show, The Coffee Klatch, which I do weekly with Heather Kinlaw Lofthouse, executive director of Inequality Media Civic Action. You can find it here on Substack or here on YouTube every Saturday.
This week we're doing something different. Same analysis, same banter and fun (when possible), only we will be LIVE during tonight’s Presidential Debate!
This first debate is going to be a real nail-biter. It’s hard to imagine any higher stakes.
With the candidates in a dead heat, what happens tonight could determine the trajectory of the rest of the race.
Will a convicted felon, business fraud, sexual abuser, serial liar who wants to be “dictator on Day One” gain the upper hand over a staunch defender of the middle and working class, democracy, and non-violence in domestic politics?
It still shocks me that this is even a question, but here we are.
We will celebrate -- or commiserate -- or perhaps do a little bit of both, with you in the moment tonight starting live at 8:45 p.m. ET/5:45 p.m. PT. Click here to get the link and bookmark the page for tonight!
Heather and I look forward to seeing you! This is our first time doing a “live watchalong.” We ask that you please leave your thoughts in the comments about what worked and what didn’t.
You’ll have to bring your own coffee, however.
