Unlike in Gaza and Ukraine, the violent conflict in Ethiopia has, thankfully, ended. But the destruction caused by the two-year civil war and the ongoing drought forced millions of people to leave their homes behind — creating one of the most dire food crises in the world.
Sadly, families who can return home are finding that their communities are in ruins. Like in Gaza, famine looms in the country’s conflict-affected regions. Overcrowding and the lack of health care has led to measles, malaria, and cholera outbreaks. Without clinics and health workers, children, and families can’t get the emergency treatment they need to survive.
