Donate Now How your gift helps In just the last five years, the number of survivors sheltered in Doorways' emergency safehousing—shelter dedicated for individuals and families in imminent danger due to domestic and sexual violence—has more than doubled. Last year, more than half of those were children. Doorways provides dedicated Children's Services in addition to all the support we provide adult survivors, because we believe that kids are our clients, too. We know that the impacts of domestic violence witnessed during childhood can last a lifetime, but with trauma-informed interventions like play and art-based therapy, we can help kids process and heal from their experiences.
