Dear Friend,

Congressional action on the National Defense Authorization Act for FY 2025 is well underway. ASBN is excited to support a provision in the House bill (Section 804) ([link removed]) that would require the Department of Defense (DoD) to use Safer Choice ([link removed]) (or similarly certified) cleaning products. The below letter urges Senate leadership to include the provision in the Senate National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).

Please use the form below to show your support by July 3rd!

With the DoD managing over 2.3 billion square feet of building space, the provision to use safer cleaning products is not just about safety, but also about market influence. By directing the DoD to use products free of PFAS “Forever Chemicals” and other hazardous chemicals, we can significantly reduce the risk to service members, military families, and civilian workers, and also curb the production of PFAS that pollute the environment.

This provision, given the DoD's significant purchasing power, will create a strong market incentive for the production and sale of safer products.

This EWG article ([link removed]) provides more background.

Ready to help steer the DoD’s purchasing power towards Safer Choice products?
