John, I’m in the business of history. I have devoted decades of my life to making films that tell America’s stories and remind people of our vast and complicated past so we can better understand where our nation is – and, perhaps more importantly, where we are going.
From the Civil War to the Great Depression, from the global conflicts of the First and Second World Wars to the darkest days of the COVID-19 pandemic, these pivotal moments have tested our republic and forced us to reckon with the promise that defines the fabric of our nation – the responsibility to preserve a democratic system of government that respects the rights and addresses the needs of all of its citizens.
In November, our country faces another crossroads, and to me, this is a choice that could not be clearer. The democratic principles that have long been the bedrock of our nation are at risk, and the results of the November elections will have profound consequences for each of our futures.
That’s why I’m reaching out to you today to ask for your support in reelecting Senator Jacky Rosen in one of the most competitive battleground states in 2024.
We need leaders like Jacky in the Senate, who will tirelessly fight for hardworking families across the country, defend fundamental reproductive rights, and uphold our democracy in the face of unprecedented attacks.
Winning her race won’t be easy. Nevada’s last Senate race was decided by just 7,928 votes – the closest margin of any Senate election in 2022 – and Republicans are targeting her race with millions of dollars worth of attack ads. She will need every dollar she can get to compete and protect her vulnerable seat. So I’m asking again: Will you help meet this moment by chipping in $5 to Jacky Rosen’s campaign ahead of her critical fundraising deadline?

Ken
