John xxxxxx --
We know we’ve asked a lot of you in this campaign, and we’ll be upfront: we are reaching out to ask you to donate again now. But before we do, we want to pull back the curtain on these requests.
You deserve to know exactly why your contribution is so important to our mission, so please hear us out.
The Tory campaign is propped up by the same select donors that backed Liz Truss and brought chaos to our country. What they don’t have is supporters like you.
And that’s where these emails come in. The lion’s share of donations to Labour come in response to emails just like this one. It’s supporters like you pitching in whatever you can give because you want to end 14 years of chaos and elect a Labour government.
Please, if you are with us, make a contribution to Labour today. Do it to make sure we have the resources to fight for every battleground seat we can. Do it because the future of Britain is on the line, and change does not happen without you.
Without emails like this one, we would be outraised and outspent by the Tories. But this is how we fund this campaign.
This morning, David set a goal for us to raise £1 million before polling day because that is what we need to fully fund this campaign.
So this email — and your response — are incredibly important.
And look, we don’t expect people to contribute to every email. But we hope you take these requests as an indication of just how important you are to this campaign and to the Labour Party.
We believe in our supporters. Unlike the Tories, everybody who shares our values has a place in this campaign. We’re fighting to change this country and make it better for you and your family.
So this evening, we are asking — one more time — for your financial support:
Can you please contribute to elect a Labour government that will serve working people? We would not ask if your contributions were not powerful.
