Hi John, it’s Wes. At the start of the quarter, at the end of the legislative session in April, we were finally able to start fundraising after a three-month freeze. But, not being able to fundraise for those three months really set us back, and right now, we’re behind where we want to be. We’re setting a goal to raise $12,000 by June 30. So today, I am going to ask you to make your first online contribution to my campaign. Here are a few important reasons why: Chip in now…because for every year I’m in office, we’re only able to fundraise for 75% of the year. That’s going to be a BIG obstacle the closer we get to a re-election fight, so it’s really important to get our fundraising back on the right track. Chip in now…to show your support for the work the Moore-Miller administration has done to make Maryland safer, more affordable, and the state that serves. Over the last two sessions, we’ve been able to pass all of the bills we’ve introduced (that’s 26-for-26!), and we’re only going to keep leading the way from here. Your support will help make it happen. Finally, chip in now…if you believe this really is Maryland’s decade. Just like we’re passing laws now that will improve Marylanders’ lives for the next ten years, we’re working to raise grassroots resources now to be ready for the long haul. This isn’t a moment, after all — it’s a movement.
I don’t expect you to give to every email we send or even most of them, but I do hope you will contribute today if you’re able to. Trust that I’m humbled and grateful to every person who’s willing to invest in our work. Elevate, Wes |
