Tonight, President Biden and Donald Trump will take the debate stage for the first time this election. Here are some questions I think the moderators should ask:
What is the difference between Medicare and Medicaid?
Which is the Article 2 branch of government?
What is the threshold for overriding a veto?
I’m not being sarcastic. Every time I’ve debated during a campaign, I’ve had to demonstrate my knowledge of the job at hand. Trump should have to do the same.
I know President Biden understands the job. Just look at everything he’s accomplished during his first term: the biggest climate bill in U.S. history. The first new gun violence prevention law in decades. Lower prescription drug costs for people on Medicare.
If voters put Democrats in power of both the legislative and executive branches, we can get even more done -- like reducing the price of prescriptions for everyone , codifying the right to abortion, strengthening our economy, passing more critical climate legislation, and lowering costs for middle-class families.
We need to elect leaders like President Biden who are serious about addressing the issues we care about. And if we’re going to help them win, we all have to pull together.
I’m hoping I can count on you to be a part of this. Will you make a contribution before tonight’s debate? [[link removed]]
